A few weeks ago, we flipped the switch here at Tech Target, retiring our existing Ning-based content management system and debuting our new WordPress environment. Overall we are happy with the way things turned out, but as with any such transition, we’re still working out the kinks.
This article covers how to log on for new and existing writers.
New Writers
If you have never written for Data Science Central before:
- Please send a letter of inquiry, or a proposed article, to the editor, [email protected].
- If it meets DSC’s publication standards, we will get back to you within 48 hours. At that point, if not previously sent, we will also need the email you wish to use as your username into the site.
- If DSC does decide to use the contributed article, the editorial team will post it within 1-3 days, and will send to you a link to the writer’s portal. We normally post between three to five new writers a week.
- When you receive the link to the writer’s portal, please add a user portrait image and a description for yourself (you can use HTML) as this will be displayed on your contributor page along with any new articles you’ve written. Once you have an account, so long as you don’t violate the terms of service for the site, you may post as often as you feel comfortable.
Returning Writers
If you have previously published on data science central, please send the link of one of your articles to me at [email protected]. I will create a new writer’s account for you that will retain links to your old articles. I will also need the email to use as the username for the site. Please make any changes you feel are relevant to your profile once you have received the account information, then you may post new content at your leisure.
Again, if you have any questions about accounts, please contact me [email protected] and I will try to get your issues resolved ASAP.
